http://www.flickr.com/photos/andregustavo/920, 1612, 1821 and now 2010…the story again, but with only one difference:  the eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull this time is causing so many damage in a personal and, of course, economic way.

The air travel has been paralised across Northern Europe since the eruption and that made stranding millions of travelers. The countries with airspace problems are: Austria, Belarous, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Island, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Serbia and Montenegro, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweeden, Switzerland, Ukraine and United Kingdom. You can follow the Air Travel disruption after the 2010  Eyjafjallajökull eruption on Wikipedia and also comments about passangers on twitter.

Chaos…mess up, people stuck in differente countries willing to get back home…immediately or in a few days and can’t find a place in a bus or train (because the only way to move around Europe right now it’s by land), I suggest you to check the ridesharing sites.

Some sites better than others depending on where are you right now

And of course, the groups on Facebook. One to recommend: Carpool Europe due to Volcanic Ash. And the group: when volcanoes Erupt: a survival guide for stranded travelers.

And remember, if you need a place to crash because hotels/hostels are full, you can also check Couchsurfing or Hospitality Club

Good luck to you all and keep posting your comments with new alternatives in the countries you are. Thanks you all!
